Player Characters
Lorenzo Martinez
An ork ex-ganger who has trouble working with authority figures.
- The Big Guy: He was the bulkiest until Wark showed up, and it's a lot easier to take Lorenzo seriously.
- Does Not Know His Own Strength: Has a habit of accidentally killing people he means to subdue, including one incident where an intended non-lethal knock-down resulted in the murder of a shopkeeper.
- Formerly Fat: One of the first jokes of the campaign was that Lorenzo's sprite was stretched out too wide, and made him look much wider than the other characters. This was obviously fixed but it gets brought up occasionally.
- Good Old Fisticuffs
- His Name Really Is "Barkeep": Unlike all the other runners, Lorenzo Martinez uses his real name for shadowrunning.
- Normally, I Would Be Dead Now: He reached 0 HP after he lashed out at Knight Errant on the GMC run, but only entered a coma after he used the cheat death mechanic.
- The Real Man: As a character mostly invested in close combat, there isn't a lot he can do besides fight.
- Sociopathic Hero: More so than the other player characters, probably the most violent despite being the most level-headed aside from Launch.
- Sole Survivor: Not really, but all of the key members of his old gang The Montagues were killed by Knight Errant in 2058. Only a few minor grunts remain, all of which went into hiding.
- Work Off the Debt: When Knight Errant troopers shot him down, Doc Wagon stabilized him. It apparently required a complete liver transplant and he now owes them over 400,000 nuyen.
Bunny (Deidra Lyran)
An Irish elf born into Tir Na Nog as a rurally-restricted hunter and farmhand who later smuggled herself out of the nation and got into virtual reality.- Bare Your Midriff: Her default Matrix persona is a hunter with minimal leather clothing not covering her waist.
- The Chick: The first female PC and the most emotional of the group, though still fairly hardened by real life standards.
- The Cracker
- Pink Means Feminine: Her hair, though she is forced to lose the dye in Part 2.
- Playful Hacker
- Super Drowning Skills: As a character with low strength and low reaction she has almost no ability to swim.
- Technician vs. Performer: More performer than technician, though only NPC hackers really seem to focus on the little details.
- Token Good Teammate: While most of the runners do not enjoy doing bad things, Bunny will sometimes outright refuse to kill people she doesn't think deserve it.
- Youthful Freckles: Though due to the difficulty of drawing them the DM prefers to ignore it.
Jerry Riggs
A mild-mannered ork and rigger who serves as the team's driver most of the time.- Because I'm Good At It: Seems to be the reason why he became a shadowrunner, besides the money. Except he's not actually very good at it.
- Drone Deployer: Though because the only customization he applies is a paint job, his drones are infamously useless.
- The Driver
- Jack of All Stats: He is competent at all forms of physical and mental labor.
- Obligatory Joke: He does this sometimes, and one of the running gags is that people find his jokes "lukewarm", a reference to a performance roll for comedy where he rolled only one success.
- Only in It for the Money: In a more comedic fashion, likely because his player contradicts this. Jerry is usually the first one to request to back out of a hopeless or low-paying run, though nobody pays attention to him.
- Trans Human: Though it's likely this is not a goal of the character, Jerry is one of the few characters in the campaign that thoroughly enjoys having cybernetic limbs.
Diablo von Blowshitup
A dwarf magician with an unusual linguistic array who loves...blowing shit up. He died at the end of Part 1 when the firebomb that scorched Castle Laidon incinerated his unconscious body.- Encyclopaedic Knowledge: He has a handling of magical theory, specifically multiple worlds theory that is far beyond the average citizen, though as Part 1 is mostly about magical theory it rarely gets to be shown as the NP Cs usually know a fair amount.
- Flat Character: Basically. As a character who was played by someone who could not attend most sessions, and most of the sessions he DID attend he spent with his character unconscious, Diablo has very little personality.
- Glass Cannon: Was KO'd five times in one campaign, far more than any other character. He also burned up the Novatech sleeper agents with one burst of his Flamethrower spell, while most other characters took several turns to kill one.
- Team Killer: Sort of—he incinerates one of Jerry's drones in combat without really caring.
Aiushtha (Skyler Page)
A human nurse and avid gamer who got caught up in shadowrunning by chance.- Ambiguous Gender: According to her player, Aiushtha is female at birth but doesn't subscribe to any gender. Nobody in-universe knows what his gender is.
- The Beastmaster: Her most effective weapon is his pet (magical) hawk, Dragonus.
- Combat Medic: Mostly minimized due to how difficult and infrequent healing is in Shadowrun, but still the best character at first aid that isn't actually a certified doctor.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: Changed her hairstyle to a ponytail after he started to realize that he's at serious risk of getting recognized because of it. Became slightly more serious after that.
- I Know Mortal Kombat: A lot of her reactions to the bizarre elements of Shadowrun involve relating it to something from a game.
- Noodle Incident: It's implied that she and her Dota team did something seriously blatant and unprecedented to cheat during the majors, since many of the characters who have any idea what Dota is recognize her team's name.
- Put on a Bus: Her player left inbetween the two parts of the third side session, which was explained as her character going out of a hotel to look for a better Matrix connection but never coming back.
- The Constant: Dota is still played in 2064, although it's now "Dota 4" and is owned by a megacorporation built upon the backs of Valve, Riot Games and Blizzard.
- The Pollyanna: Not really effected at all by all the bad shit that goes down in the campaign, although she didn't play Part 2.
Wark
A SIN-less ex-bodyguard Troll who takes odd jobs to sooth his unending appetite.- An Axe To Grind
- Big Eater: His Suprathyroid Gland means that he's even stronger than the average troll, but also means that he has to eat and drink twice as much.
- Dumb Muscle: Not stupid, but generally uneducated and the least intelligent of the runners.
- Heroic Comedic Sociopath
- No Social Skills: Literally, he has 1 Charisma, no social skills and the Uncouth quality.
- Odd Friendship: He and Launch seem to get along well, despite coming from completely different walks of life and having no common interests.
- Only One Name: Like Diablo, it is unclear whether Wark is his actual real name, but he only goes by Wark.
- The Load: The DM portrays him as this throughout Part 2—bringing an uncouth Troll to a totalitarian Elven state means he'd be cause for suspicion even without his frequent screw ups.
- What Could Possibly Go Wrong?: As a character with the Braggart quality, he makes condescending statements like this a lot while planning. With his total lack of skills in anything that isn't combat, it always goes poorly.
Sunshine (Amelia Sunderman)
A gunslinger raised in Texas who ran straight out of high school to start shadowrunning. Has an ex-husband and son who have so far not been seen.- The Ace: Most of the other shadowrunners have at least one weakness that can be exploited without a high budget, but Sunshine easily tears through any grunts that are less than Professional Rating 5, and functions fine in social atmosphere.
- Married to the Job: She divorced her husband so she could continue shadowrunning.
- Smoking Is Cool: Has a mild addiction to cigarettes that doesn't seem to hinder her at all.
Mikhail Sibensen
The manager of a GMC facility in Detroit who considers himself above the law because of his prudent involvement with the city. Was either fired, demoted, or lost a lot of prestige as a result of indirectly causing the loss of a patent.- Bad Guys Do the Dirty Work: The runners were hired because he wanted them to protect his last remaining lawyer, Jack Pinkerton, but he also protected Pinkerton with his own hands.
- Choke Holds: His signature weapon is a scarfed garrote which he uses to choke people to death.
- Pyrrhic Victory: He hired the runners to protect Jack Pinkerton for 48 hours, which they did. Jack was killed eleven minutes later, but he still payed them.
- Player Character Calculus: Unusual for Shadowrun, Mikhail is a Johnson played by a player.
- Small Role, Big Impact: Mikhail is easily the least prolific player character, but he was the main player behind the GMC-Fed-Boeing subplot and likely knew about the cyber-warfare in DC before the actual players did.
Launch (Guy Personson)
A human criminal and student who attended Edinburgh University on a fraudulent scholarship, but was found out and was blackmailed by Julie Anderson to help the other runners.- But I Read a Book About It: With the College Education quality, he has 1 point of knowledge in everything, but lacks formal training.
- Determined Defeatist: Keeps saying that it's very likely that all of the runners will be killed by the Nosferatu but keeps pursuing him without any reluctance.
- The Generic Guy: He is designed this way as gag, but Launch is only really generic by Shadowrun standards.
- Kindhearted Cat Lover
- Socially Awkward Hero
- Wax On, Wax Off: It's mostly meant as a joke, but Julie Anderson says Launch could consider his deferment to Tir Na Nog an internship.
Part 1 Non-Player Characters
Julie Anderson
A Professor of Magical Theory working at Edinburgh who helps the runners find the Gestalt chips for Draksyl's cyberdeck. Used to be Draksyl's best friend until his demise.- Astrologer
- Dissonant Serenity: It's not really in Julie's nature to exert stress.
- Mission Control
- Reasonable Authority Figure: She doesn't do anything to tarnish her image as a Professor, and requests that the PC's messes don't involve her or are cleaned up.
Simon Henderson
A low-level programmer and spokesman for Transys Neuronet who hires the runners to find Draksyl. He is later killed by Novatech sleeper agents within Transys, and set up to make it look like the runners did it.- Nice Guy: Especially compared to every other employers the runners have had.
- Man in a Kilt
- Rasputinian Death: For unclear reasons, he was incinerated to the point where most of his body was ash, despite the fact that he had no way of resisting.
- Student–Master Team: Ironically, Draksyl was Simon's mentor, despite being six years younger than him.
- We Hardly Knew Ye: Dies off-screen in the fifth session, and only appeared in two sessions before his death.
Hendrick
A gruff, muscular, Ork bartender who managed his own place in Edinburgh. Helps the players get their bearings in Scotland.- The Bartender: Obviously.
- Berserk Button: He's usually pretty quiet unless something really asinine happens, but if people don't finish their drinks he screams at them. Presumably because they'd be wasting alchohol.
- Cannot Talk to Women: He's fond of women of all types, but isn't very charismatic so he's mostly quiet around them.
